Francesco Tinto, Global CIO, Walgreens Boots Alliance
Francesco Tinto is the Global Chief Information Officer for Walgreens Boots Alliance, where he oversees the global strategy for WBA’s IT operations across all of the company’s divisions, as well as the implementation of technology and digitalization of the company. In his role, Francesco is charged with delivering best-in-class solutions to customers, patients, and employees, working closely with strategic technology partners such as Microsoft and Alphabet’s Verily, and driving value for the company through business process improvements and infrastructure optimization. Francesco leads a global team headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois, with employees in WBA’s other locations around the world.
Prior to joining WBA, Francesco served as the Global Chief Information Officer for the Kraft Heinz Company, where he was responsible for the Global Information Technology function and the Business Shared Services functions. Before the merger of Kraft Heinz, Francesco led Information Systems and Business Shared Services functions for Kraft Foods Group after its separation from Mondelēz International in 2012.
Francesco has 25 years of extensive experience within the Consumer Goods and Packaging industry, and he previously held several leadership positions at Procter & Gamble Italy within their Information Systems function, managing key functions for retail, marketing, sales, supply chain and information systems.
He is a member of the Information Systems Steering Committee for the Grocery Manufacturers Association and holds an Electronic Engineering Degree from Politecnico di Bari Italy.
