Craig Brabec, SVP, Chief Data Analytics Officer, Best Buy

As Best Buy’s Chief Data Analytics Officer, Craig is infusing data use for value across the global enterprise. He is leading enterprise data transformation, establishing best-in-class data analytics, coupled with strategy and governance and evangelizing these changes throughout Best Buy.

Prior to joining Best Buy as their SVP CDAO, Craig was the Chief Data Analytics Officer at McDonald’s, Global Director of Data Analytics for Ford Motor Company, SVP CDAO for McKesson and Chief of Analytics for Caterpillar Inc.  Leadership at Caterpillar included roles in strategy, IT, 6 Sigma, and supply chain. Craig was part of Deloitte’s strategy and operations practice and also served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy.

Craig has obtained numerous distinctions, including Data Innovator of the Year, DataIQ Most Influential People in Data (#3), and International Institute of Analytics Project of the Year.  He has been highlighted in many publications including the WSJ, Forbes, and several podcasts.  He is adjunct faculty at Carnegie Mellon University, is a current member of the National Business & Industry Leadership Team for the National Science Foundation and the Leadership Council for the International Institute for Analytics (IIA).

Craig lives in Michigan with his wife and their five children. In his free time, Craig enjoys the outdoors, including hiking, camping, running and family vacations. His passion projects are promoting STEM to youth worldwide, most notably with the FIRST Robotics and Coderina (Coder in Africa) organizations.
